#Why do pistons have 3 rings?
Piston rings include compression rings and oil rings. The function of the compression ring is to ensure the seal between the piston and the cylinder wall, preventing the gas in the cylinder from entering the crankcase. At the same time, it will transfer the heat received at the top of the piston to the cylinder wall, where it will be carried away by coolant or air. Most pistons use two or three compression rings.
The oil ring forms a uniform oil film on the cylinder wall and plays the role of oil collection. The collected oil flows into the oil pan through the oil return hole of the oil ring tank.
